We're the Best of the Worst!

This might actually bring you down.

Have you ever listen to a song and/or album from a movie that you listen to every single day that is one of your favorite songs of all time and you can't live without, despite the fact the movie you just seen was either a disappointment, a horrible bad flick and/or it just plain suck?

Well, I may not know your favorites but I am here to list off my Top 10 Favorite Movie Soundtracks from the worst movies ever. It can be either a soundtrack or a score from a movie, either way, here's my top 10:

10. Spawn

If you remember the 1997 movie based upon the comic-book series created by Todd McFarlane, then you really will be disappointed with the final cut of this movie. While the awesome casting of a pre-Black Dynamite Michael Jai White, John Leguizamo, and Martin Sheen, this movie suffers from the main villain Clown (or Violator) being too much of a gross disturbing jokey bastard, some characters from the comic only appear for 3 seconds or less, some very horrible acting (especially from the kid actors) and the uninspired fight scenes and the fact this was the first comic book movie featuring an African-American superhero (before the success of Blade) and it flat out sucked, although Steel was equally bad. However, the soundtrack is a different story as like the soundtracks to Judgment Night & Blade II, it combines two music genres and they combine electronica & metal. I'm not a hardcore metal fan but I like electronica and this soundtrack really brought it out for me. This is some mixed reaction to the soundtrack as some were positive and either a bit critical. Electronica artists like The Crystal Method, Orbital, The Prodigy, Moby, Roni Size,etc. mixed with rock metal bands like Korn, Slayer, Incubus, Butthole Surfers made the soundtrack worth it for the seeing the actual movie but that's not saying much.

9.Street Fighter (1994)

Now I know the 1994 movie was the worst (well, one of the worst) video game movies ever made and that problem still exists in the world of movies today. The problems were it wasn't like the games and it had the plot and the feel of an generic war movie. Also, this was one of Raul Julia's (who played M. Bison) final films since he died before the movie premiered and that was a shame, considering he actually acted throughout the whole damn movie (Note: Ming-Na is very hot as Chun-Li). Now as for the soundtrack, I love it. If you are feeling nostalgic for 90s hip hop, this is it. From artists like Ice Cube, Nas, LL Cool J, Craig Mack, The Pharcyde, Public Enemy, this album didn't sucked like the movie did, but then, after seeing The Legend of Chun-LI, I realized this one is more watchable than that. I will say this though, avoid the song Straight to My Feet from Hammer & Deion Sanders, yes, that Deion Sanders.

8.Blade: Trinity

The Blade movies one of my favorite comic-book movie series of all time. Not only did it brought the popularity of comic-book films since the failures of Batman & Robin, Tank Girl & Spawn, it open the doors of the X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man & the current Marvel movies. But this film (like Spider-Man 3 or X-Men Wolverine) is filled with bullshit after bullshit. The film pushes back Blade as a supporting character as these other very lame characters (Hannibal King & Abigail Whistler) take part of it, the villain in this is more of a bitch and a douche than Deacon Frost, useful characters die for no reason whatsoever (RIP Whistler) and this premise is so awful. Now the soundtrack, when I heard The RZA is a part of this, I was excited like a Twilight Fangirl (well, not that excited). Blade soundtracks often mix genres like hip hop & electronica (why I loved all three), but the soundtrack was underwhelming. "Fatal", "Thirsty", and even "When The Guns Come Out" can contribute the inspiration of Blade but "I Gotta Get Paid", I like it but it didn't fit in there at all, same as "Party at The Morgue" or "Bombs Away". And for those who like to bitch about hip hop, there are only 4 tracks produced by the RZA, 2 score pieces & 6 electronica tracks. Everybody happy now?

7.Sucker Punch

Remember that tagline, "You Will Be Unprepared"? They were right. I was unprepared of how forgettable and stupid this movie is, it's not that bad as the critics say and I know I might get a lot of heat from this but those girls are really, really sexy in this. Yes, I do realize it's kind of sexist in a way and it did show (although Twilight is more sexist to me, in my opinion), and while the visuals are mind-blowing, the movie you'll forget in a day or two and I thought it would be good since I like Zack Snyder's work (especially Watchmen). The music is a mixed bag for me, while the song, "Army of Me" brings out an adrenaline rush to me, "Sweet Dreams( are Made of This)" was the song I was not impressed with and the same goes to, "Love is The Drug" & "Asleep". Overall, the music was 50/50 for me.

6.DeRailed

Remember this gem? You don't? I don't blame you. I bought it on DVD and I still don't remember this movie, but here is some plot details. Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston (not in a romcom role) were having a brief affair when Vincent Cassel caught them, beat up Owen, rape Aniston, blackmails them and the RZA and Xzibit was somehow involved in this? Yeah, I still don't get it; hence my point. The soundtrack or selected of songs mostly has nothing to do in the film considering most of them weren't even in the movie. One song called "Johnny" by Rular Rah is my favorite and only one. The score pieces by Ed Shearmur was good even is mislead and mislabeled. The album was released under 36 Chambers/ WU Music so the RZA was kinda involved in the soundtrack, too. This one is a C+.

5. Batman Forever

This is.............not the one that tarnishes the bat, but it's close. Joel Schumacher (or some people call him the Devil) did directed Batman Forever because at first I thought Tim Burton was attached but that was Batman Returns he directed. The movie.......it wasn't that great and if you thought this was worse...just wait and see. The soundtrack was worth checking out especially ranging artists like U2, Brandy, Seal, Method Man, Massive Attack, Michael Hutchence, Nick Cave and various others give the soundtrack life to this........now be warned in 5,4,3,2...........and..

4.Batman & Robin

......And 1. More like Gatman & Robbin cause I was mind-robbed for seeing this. Do I really got to tell you how bad this movie is? From switching Val Kilmer to George Clooney as Batman? The Drama Queen Poison Ivy? Bane as a dumbass muscle & ARNOLD! The music........is quite likeable. R. Kelly's "Gotham City" is one of the most peaceful and calm songs I have ever listened despite it being an anthem for a city that is way fucked up. As for the others, Bone Thugs N Harmony, REM, Me'Shell Ndegéocello, Eric Benet & Elliot Goldenthal brought their best to the soundtrack and especially The Smashing Pumpkins, since "The Beginning of the End is The Beginning", the dark version of "The End of the Beginning is The End" was used in the early trailers of Watchmen.

3. The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Yep, even though i really hate this franchise for a very good reason and there are many reasons, such as having a convulted piss-poor plot, unlikable characters, and lame CGI wolf effects the music was tolerable is this film. Despite it, if you are an indie music lover, you might enjoy this soundtrack and the score. The score is very good from Alexandre Desplat and some artists like Lykke Li, OK Go, Muse and Lupe Fiasco (yes, he contribute to the soundtrack as well, it's on the iTunes bonus track.) This franchise is a big FUCK YOU, the soundtracks are worth checking out.

2. WIld Wild West

Not that long ago (actually 12 years ago), Will Smith had a choice to choose to whether be in The Matrix or Wild Wild West. Well, the rest was history. Wild Wild West was a dent of Will Smith's uber-successful career but it didn't keep him slowing down, although his music career did........for a while. Actually 2 songs from that album are in the movie, such as, "The Wild Wild West!" and "Bailamos". The score was beautifully done by the late Elmer Bernstein. It adds the feel that it was a western movie. This movie wasn't that bad but it is not a gem. One thing I like in the movie: Salma Hayek.

Now, the moment you been waiting or reading for as the #1 spot goes to:

1. The Last AirbenderYES!!!!!YES!!!!!YES!!!! The best soundtrack (or score) as come to the form from the worst movie of 2010 ever and that is the Last Airbender. This movie really pissed me off and left me angry at M. Night Shamaylan and I wasn't an Shamaylan hater.....until now.

I love the original animation of the series. It was one of my favorites when I was the age of 14, but they did not follow the series faithfully. The characters sucked, the fight moves look like disgruntled breakdance fighting and worst of all, 3D! 3D!!!! They have the nerve to post-convert to make some dinero. Didn't Clash of the Titans 2010 teach you anything? But you know what, the score was the best and only thing good about that movie. James Newton Howard, who collaborates with Shamaylan for some reason, did an excellent job of doing the score to this abysmal bad reminder of a movie. I salute you, JNH but I curse you, Shamaylan.
