I feel you, I've been reading the fellowship after reading the hobbit for the fifth time and the more and more of it I read the more and more I dislike the movie. I got into a huge argument with someone that told me the movie was better because of the love scenes that were added. Rule of thumb too much is lost in the translation from novel to film novel always is better, because it makes you think which tends to be a little hard for people today so it was dumbed down so it would make more money for the lowest common denominator.

he makes really good points: 1)the over saturation of the characters within the movie, is an over kill. 2) the over use of merchandising the hell out of the movie to the point of  and miss use of the right type of art that is true as well. 3) the tone of the movie, from what I have taken from the books is a theme of hope and light, and that in the end good will win because it is good, and not because the plot says so, it was really bad to see this movies taken that road, the over the top dark theme really killed the movies for me as a fan of the books. 4) the music is was EHHH.... :-| type of thing for me, but it would have been nice to hear a music fit to the moment, be it epic fight or a happy go lucky drinking or something like that, the music was not "who know what" for me at lest. 5) O M G ! ok....there is some MUCH TRUE to that, the out of this world, out of Touch with realty and out of characters.... lets do a count: A) pipen: a whiz in the books, in the movie is played for LOLs and ehhoo like how funny he is, :-x B) well gandolf...well....it did not matter to me to be Honest. C)GIMLI been the fucking punching bug in the movies in the LOLS department, well in the books, he kick ass and takes name like it what yesterday for him!. 6) that also true, they have left a lot of fun and Thought-provoking characters and parts of the books. 7) that is true, READ THE FINE BOOK!
