Easily in the top 5 games ever made and your review was spot on on everything that made it great.

There are a few marquis names in the video game industry that people follow. People like Tim Schafer, Cliffy B, Shigeru Miyamoto, or Sid Meier. But me, my "can do no wrong" video game maker is Ken Levine. Nearly everything he's made is nothing short of fantastic. He's a master of not just building worlds (most game developers tend to be good world-builders), but knowing what to do with those worlds and how to make them relate to the main narrative. This game, Freedom Force, and Bioshock are prime examples of that.

I hate to say it, but I arrived at the game late with Ken Levine. I first discovered him through Bioshock, but I immediately went through his back-catalog (yes, even SWAT IV) and really enjoyed them. Your reactions regarding System Shock are spot-on as far as I'm concerned. The graphics are very dated by today's standards and it's tough to get into it from there. But once you do, System Shock 2 is dread-inducing and quite haunting. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Bioshock.

The System Shock series has had a lot of good names attached to it: the original was created by Warren Spector of Deus Ex fame and published by Origin Systems, the company behind Ultima and Wing Commander.
I don't want to focus on just one of the game's creators since it takes whole teams to make them, but I'll see if I can shine a little spotlight on Ken Levine in the review.

BONUS STAGE:
I ended up cutting some material from the review to keep it under 20 minutes, mostly extra stuff praising the music and the atmosphere, as well as some making-of-the-game stuff I dug up via this page on Irrational Game's website. Take a gander.

Well I started playing and I'm stuck in the engineering deck. For some insane reason decided to play on impossible difficulty but at least I had the sense to build a combat oriented character with high endurance. Still find myself constantly quick saving/loading since I started running out of nanites from repeated regenerations a long time ago.

The graphic updates are nice but I find there's nothing quite like playing the game as it was originally intended. I'm playing fresh out of the box save for the latest patch.

Wait, was that a City of Heroes manual? I had to rewind the video and pause it, but... Yes it is :) So... Do you intend to talk about City of Heroes at some point? With the game being announced to shut down by October, you may lose that opportunity forever.
