Even assuming that reality is a construct of my own mind, there is still plenty of room and reason for self-improvement. Not necessary for "overcoming" per se, if you want to get into semantics, but definitely improvement. It's just that instead of goals, the improvement will be measured by my will alone, while goals themselves remain inmeasurable as my will will be purely abstract. I find that to be the only honest way to get to know the shape of one's real will, actually. To just rely on waypoints is to live in fantasy, like a child being absolutely sure about wanting to be a fireman when he grows up.

Also this issue is more prevalent to plain old modernism than post-modernism. Although generally, post-anything tends to pertain much the same issues as the anything in question. Also generally, post-anything tends to not be worth much analyzing except as a part of the history of whatever movement that follows it, which we at the moment don't know as we're still not that far in our culture.

Could you look at Fruit Basket for me? I know it may not be as good at the Manga but I would like to see what you think of it threw a philosophy standpoint.
